Conference Aim:
The main aim of this conference, ICGB2009, is to provide an international platform for academics, business professionals and government officials from all over the world to come together to exchange ideas on applying global business strategies for economic development. The other aim of the Conference is to find the root causes of the global economic crisis, the effects of the crisis, and proposing strategic solution including the expected end time-frame of the crisis. ICGB2009 will consist of workshops, tutorials, networking sessions, exhibitions, trade transactions, keynote speeches, paper presentations, panel discussions, and a tour of industries and places of tourist. Submitted papers will be double blind peer reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the CD conference proceedings. Best papers will be considered for publication in appropriate reputable journals. Business proposals will also be accepted. There will be formation of strategic partnerships and alliances among governments, businesses, and universities.

Invited Keynote Speaker Extraordinaire
Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai, has been invited to open the conference. The Dubai Ruler is also the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates.
Distinguished Keynote Speaker
Professor Matthew Kuofie will present “A Strategic Model for Solving the Global Economic Crises—The way out for the US, the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and the Rest of the World.” The components of the model include 1) knowledge management/IT, 2) government, 3) academia, 4) corporate, 5) marketing, 6) management/economics, and 7) finance/accounting. Prof Matthew Kuofie is a renowned global business management and information technology professor, a global business consultant and a politician. Professor Kuofie ran for a Michigan City Council during the November 4, 2008 United States General Election. He intends to campaign for the United States Congress. He will have a one-on-one meeting with government, corporate, and university executives. Meetings at golf outings possible and welcome!

| Dr. Eric Dorion is currently a professor at the University of Caxias do Sul in Brazil. He is the director of the Post-Graduate Program in Administration. Professor Dorion has established a research network with Chinese, Indian and European colleagues. He does research in Market Strategies.He also lectures in Canadian, French and some Brazilian universities and companies. He is a fellow of the Global Strategic Management Incorporated, USA. |

| Dr. Christian C. Wagner is the chair of the Industrial and Systems Engineering Department at Oakland University, Michigan, USA. Dr. Wagner has consulted for a large set of industrial customers including DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Eaton Automotive, General Motors/EDS and Pulte Homes all in the USA. He is a fellow of the Global Strategic Management Incorporated, USA. |
Professor Ismail GENC, Professor of Economics at the American University of Sharjah, UAE, will lead a panel discussion on the current global economic crisis and its impact on the Middle East countries as well a strategic solution. The panel members will include representatives from at least two central banks from the Middle East who are highly placed in their institutions and well established scholars from academia from the Middle East.

 | Dr. Lokman Gündüz has been a board member of the Central Bank of Turkey since 2005. He served as a financial analyst at Ziraat Bank and as a member of auditing committee at Yapı ve Kredi Bank. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees in Banking at Marmara University, Institute of Banking and Insurance. Dr. Gündüz has various papers published in national and international scientific journals on banking and capital markets. |
 | Dr. Ahmet Faruk Aysan served as a consultant on a number of World Bank projects. He is an economics professor at Boğaziçi University as an associate professor of economics. Dr Ahmet Faruk Aysan received his undergraduate education in economics at the Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. He earned his master’s and doctoral degrees also in economics at the University of Maryland College Park, USA |
 | Dr. Saeed Abtahi, CEO of Macro, is an international investment banker, corporate advisor, and asset manager with over 28 years of experience involving 10 years of working in London, 15 years in the US, and 3 years in the Gulf region. Before returning to the Gulf region in 2005, Dr. Abtahi was the President of Hunter Capital Group, a U.S. investment bank and fund management firm which he founded in 1996. Prior to founding Hunter, he was a Managing Director at Bankers Trust, responsible for the European Capital Markets and the U.S. Capital Markets. Dr. Abtahi started his banking career in the Capital Markets Group of Bank of America. A substantial portion of Dr. Abtahi’s career has been oriented toward capital markets, private equity investment and risk management. Dr. Abtahi earned B.S. and M.S. degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Doctorate in Finance from Harvard Business School.
